Collene Froberg, Doctor of Chiropractic

Hello, I'm Dr. Collene! Growing up in Gwinn, my childhood consisted of riding bikes down “the gut”, sledding Tourist Park hill, tubing the Escanaba River and working summer at my grandparents’ clothing store. Beginning in elementary school my love for competitive sports began and continued to grow. While suffering a shoulder injury in high school, I was introduced to chiropractic medicine. While my shoulder was being treated, my migraines were simultaneously improving. This is when my fascination with the capabilities of the human body began.

After graduating from Gwinn High School in 2007, knowing I wanted to pursue a career in chiropractic, I began my education at Northern Michigan University where I received my Bachelor's Degree of Sports Science in 2011. From there I explored options for chiropractic colleges and chose National University of Health Sciences in Illinois. Their philosophy of chiropractic and the integral relationship with biomechanics and coordinating care with conventional medicine exactly aligned with my viewpoints and passion.

During my studies at NUHS, I also received numerous certifications and trainings;

  • Prenatal and pediatric care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association

  • Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabalization training with the Prague School of Rehabilitation and Manual Medicine

  • Rehabilitation training for special populations through the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation program

  • Fascial Movement Taping, Rockblading and Rockpods techniques through Rocktape

  • Nutrition, diet and supplementation education through various seminars

In August 2015 I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine and felt the call to come back to my hometown. I purchased my practice and established Gwinn Chiropractic & Massage in 2017. Combining my passion of chiropractic medicine with my upbringing in a small family-owned business, I could not be more proud to come full circle to serve this community.

Outside of patient care, my time is spent with my husband and our son adventuring around the UP after our waterfalls checklist, and making memories with our close family and friends.

She is a Yooper girl who enjoys fishing with her husband Bob and watching her sons compete in various sports and the winter ice races.

Tracee Petoskey, Clinic Coordinator

I am Tracee a U.P. native who grew up in Ishpeming. I've worked in an office setting for the past 12 years, between animal clinics and insurance I have seen it all. Last year my husband Justin and I moved back home from Oregon where we lived for 10 years. I spent most of my time there hiking and volunteering with the community theatres. We were getting home sick and wanting to spend more time with family so we packed up our RV and drove back east in 2019. We had quite an adventure that summer RV'ing around the country with our two cats and dog, Koga! I'm really happy to be back in the U.P. where we get four seasons and lots of SNOW! I've been spending most of my time in baby bliss, my husband and I just welcomed our first child, Aleena, in June of 2021. Otherwise, you'll find me at home practicing yoga and meditation. I feel it's essential to having a healthy mind and body as well as a balanced life. I'm looking forward to getting more established in Gwinn and having you all as neighbors, too.

Kim graduated from Munising High School and settled in Gwinn shortly afterward. She has two children, Kaden & Kayla with her husband Bob.
